I started working with Linux systems long before SYSOPGUY existed. Two decades later, the approach is still the same: understand the problem, work carefully, and fix what actually needs fixing.

A little about me

My name is Andrea. I’m an independent Linux system administrator based in Italy, with more than two decades of hands-on experience with Linux systems, servers and infrastructure.
I work alone, directly with each person I help. No call centres, no account managers and no unnecessary layers between you and the person actually working on your system.

I work carefully, change only what is needed and avoid unnecessary disruption to production systems.

If something is not worth fixing, I say so. If I am not the right person for the job, I say that too.

TWO DECADES IN IT

Milestones along the way

2003

Computer technician

I started as a computer technician, working hands-on with hardware, software, networks and everyday technical problems.

2008

Freelance Linux sysadmin

I became self-employed and focused increasingly on Linux systems, servers, networking and direct technical support.

2013

Linux sysadmin

I moved into a dedicated system administrator role, working with Linux servers and business infrastructure.

2016

Co-founder & system administrator

I co-founded an IT company while continuing to work hands-on with Linux systems, servers and production infrastructure.

2025

Back to working independently

After years of companies, clients and infrastructure, I returned to working independently, directly and on my own terms.

2026

Linux support, directly from me

Today, SYSOPGUY brings that experience together: direct Linux and server support with no unnecessary layers and one point of contact.
